The most famous mountain in Franconian Switzerland is the Ehrenbürg, commonly known as the ‘Walberla’. However, the Walberla is only the northern peak of the mountain (513.9 m above sea level); the Ehrenbürg also includes the Rodenstein (531.9 m above sea level).
👀 Worth seeing
In addition to picturesque rock formations, the mountain is home to the Walburgis Chapel. On the first Sunday in May, the Walberla Festival is celebrated in her honour – a patron saint’s festival popular far beyond the region.
