• Cosy and rustic with an old vaulted ceiling, an orchard and a historic courtyard beneath walnut trees.
• Child-friendly, with a large sandpit and space for motorhomes nearby.
• Dogs allowed, homemade lemonades and home-brewed beer made to our own recipe.

Cuisine & Specialities

• Traditional Franconian cuisine with hot dishes changing daily.
• Specialities: homemade snacks (including from straw-fed pigs), tarte flambée and grilled fish on Fridays (from 5 pm) – ‘Schwarze Küche’ – as well as Schäufele on Thursdays, pork knuckle on Saturdays, plus Spätzle with creamed mushrooms, vegetable stir-fry and curry.
• Suckling pig available to order in advance.
• A changing vegan dish is also on the menu

Opening hours

• Mid-March to the end of December:
  • Thu & Fri from 1 pm
  • Sat & Sun from 11.30 am 
  • Hot meals served throughout until approx. one hour before closing
• Monday–Wednesday: Closed (plus winter break from early January to mid-March).

• Family and Christmas parties can be booked; vegetarian and vegan options available, all freshly prepared using regional produce.

• In good weather, spring and summer events with music in the beer garden (e.g. on Ascension Day, Corpus Christi).
