Hundshaupten Wildlife Park

Hundshaupten Wildlife Park is tucked away in a side valley near Egloffstein, surrounded by woodland and meadows and situated beside a small stream. Along a circular trail, which includes some inclines, visitors can spot nearly 40 species of animals, ranging from native wildlife and introduced species to rare, traditional breeds of domestic animals.

🦌 Animals

Amongst the animals on display are moose, lynx, wolves, raccoons and, more recently, European bison. There are also friendly domestic animals such as ponies, alpacas, donkeys, goats, sheep and hares, which are a particular hit with children. There is also a regular birds of prey display and a predator feeding session.

👪 For families

The park is a popular destination for families: plenty of space to walk around, a ‘green classroom’ for school groups and animal sponsorship schemes to give as gifts. There are on-site catering facilities for a bite to eat. The wildlife park was founded in 1971.
